Historique :	Cette grande statue haute de presque deux mètres provient de l'abbaye de Saint-Vincent-au-Bois qui possède depuis les Croisades des reliques de l'apôtre. La couronne céleste est un élément qui apparaît aux 16ème et 17ème siècles (sous la forme d'anges porteurs de couronnes dans les tableaux). Oeuvre d'un artiste sculpteur, cette statue a un caractère unique.

Précision_sur la representation :	La sculpture est d'une grande qualité tant par l'expression du visage que par la stature du saint. Une magnifique coquille agrafe le manteau au drapé opulent. De la main droite (épaufure, manque le pouce), le saint tient un bâton, de l'autre il serre sur sa poitrine une couronne de fleurs qui symbolise la couronne céleste que lui a valu son martyre.
